Not just any old pancakes either. We joined a lively group of Mooi River parishioners at All Saints in Nottingham Road, ages ranging from about 4 to 94. It was all good fun with plenty of swigging going on and cheerful, aproned helpers expertly making hundreds of crepes.
Along with the old favourite of lemon with cinnamon sugar, we also had savoury mince and a delicious organic spinach one. I was rather impressed for a church hall effort, have to say.
I know this happen in cities too. Plus I'm sure that for someone who has lived here their whole life would be rolling their eyes at our pleasure in this, but the boys and I seem to be taking to country life rather like the proverbial ducks to water.
Plus, as you can see, we have still not stopped eating.
